Some brides will like to stay in their wedding dress till they arrive at the room in which they will spend their first night, particularly if they will be staying in the same venue where the reception took place. However other’s may prefer (particularly if there is some traveling involved after the reception) to have a specific outfit made in which to say farewell to guests and depart the reception. If she chooses a going-away outfit, usually the throwing of the bouquet and garter are done after she has changed.
