On The Day

01 Jun, 2009

The best man should come to collect your going-away outfit and honeymoon luggage and it is his job to see that it reaches its destination. Your going-away outfit should be taken to the reception venue.

Your attendants should be dressed and ready before you which will be an about hour and a half before the ceremony. Then they are free to help you, and to deal with any last minute emergencies that may occur. Your make-up should also be done AFTER all the attendants so that you look as fresh as possible. Dress and veil go on last.

These days part of a photographer’s duties is to get some good shots of you and your attendants preparing, and getting ready for the event. Usually the photographer is experienced in this so it should not be an added stress for you.

Allow ample time to arrive at the wedding venue. It may be a good idea to take a practice run earlier in the week. Your mother and bridesmaids leave in the first car/s, and you and your father follow in the main vehicle.
