Including Step-Children In The Wedding

01 Jun, 2009

So many new marriages these days include step-families. It is important to include the step-children in the event. Giving them a specific duty to fulfill on the Big Day will help them assimilate to the new order of things. If the child is old enough, involve them in the planning stage as much as possible, go shopping with them for outfits and wedding related items, and it will be well worth the effort and expense for a new step-mom to include the step-daughter in the hair, make-up, and nail sessions.

Sometimes couples will want to include the step-children in the exchanging of vows. The children will stand up with the couple, and the wording of the vows will include specific promises to the children as well.
